Getting to Traralgon by Car
From Melbourne: An easy 90 minute drive along the M1 Freeway following the signs to Warragul. Continue past Warragul, Yarragon and Trafalgar and you will reach Moe, the first town within Latrobe City. Further along the Freeway, approximately 10 minutes drive is Morwell, the centre of Latrobe City’s three major towns. Another 10 minutes drive will bring you into Traralgon. No turn off here is necessary as the Freeway goes through the town.
From Melbourne Airport (Tullamarine): Following City Link (electronic tollway) will bring you towards Melbourne’s south eastern suburbs and the M1 Freeway. Follow signpost to M1 Freeway, South Eastern suburbs and Warragul as above directions from Melbourne. IMPORTANT: To travel on the City Link tollway, you will need to purchase a pass (if you do not have an E-Tag). Find out more information or purchase a City Link pass or phone 13 26 29.
From New South Wales border: Latrobe City is accessible via the Princes Highway (A1) from the east coast if you are travelling from the New South Wales border. You will pass major towns including Lakes Entrance, Bairnsdale and Sale before you reach Latrobe City’s major hub; Traralgon. It is just under two hours drive from Lakes Entrance. Continue your journey to Morwell (approximately 10 minutes) and Moe is just a further 15 minutes.
Getting to Traralgon by Rail
Rail services run every hour between Melbourne in the west and Traralgon in the east. V/Line rail services offer visitors to the area a comfortable and direct journey along its well serviced routes from Melbourne departing Southern Cross Station in Melbourne’s CBD.
